Recently the Environment Agency were undertaking routine testing at Milford Bridge and they detected some contamination from a pipe under the bridge.
The source of the contamination has been established, which is a hand basin from a nearby business within the village. Therefore the contamination is not e.coli, it is from a hand basin.
The flow from the hand basin is now being re-directed into the correct drain. Southern Water currently has a tanker at the bridge which is removing any residual waste. They are also going to check that there is no other ill-fitted connections from other premises.
